As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, the Sector Development Forums (SDF) has announced the launch of a new award:
The Khadija Al-Jahmi Podcast Award, aimed at celebrating excellence in podcasting across North Africa.
The announcement was made by Mr. Rabie Shrair, President of SDF, on the sidelines of the “Assises du Journalisme Méditerranée“, held in Marseille and concluded on April 30.
This award is dedicated to recognizing outstanding podcast creators whose audio content contributes to cultural, social, or intellectual awareness, and reflects the diversity and realities of the region.
The initiative falls under the umbrella of the “Toyob Cultural Awards”, a program launched by SDF in collaboration with the Toyob Cultural Network, as part of its efforts to support independent media and cultural expression.
It is one of several educational and cultural awards introduced by the Toyob Network to promote creativity and public engagement throughout the region.
Mr. Shrair emphasized that naming the award after Khadija Al-Jahmi, a pioneering Libyan media figure, is a tribute to her remarkable legacy and her inspiring role as a progressive female voice in Arab media history.
