As the activities of Sectors Development Forums resume after the hiatus following Covid Pandemic, the management of SDF announces Dr. Taher Jehaimi the president of the 4th Edition of their annual Banking Sector Development Forum in Libya, which will be held in Tunis – Tunisia on the 7th and 8th of November 2022.
Dr. Taher Jehaimi held many positions, the most important of which were Governor of the Central Bank of Libya between 1997 and 2002, and Ambassador of the State of Libya to China. He also held the position of President of the University of Benghazi between 2008 and 2010, and Minister of Planning between 2005 and 2008 and Secretary of the Planning Council between 2002 and 2005, Minister of Planning, Economy and Trade between 1994 and 1997, and the most recently he was Minister of Planning between 2016 and 2020.
The fourth Edition of BSDF will discuss many topics such as Stagflation during the period 2019-2022, The role of monetary policy in addressing stagnation and inflation, The role of commercial banks in revitalizing the economy, Postpaid tools in banks and financial technology companies and their role in economic activity, The importance of financing small and medium enterprises to increase the gross domestic product, The role of regional banks in supporting and stimulating intra-regional trade with neighboring countries to reduce the supply chain crisis.
